Global quick add. The most important Todoist shortcut on Mac is the one that opens the quick-add panel from anywhere. You don't need to have the Todoist window open or visible. Type the task (with optional scheduling and priority), confirm, and return to what you were doing. The exact shortcut is in the table above, and it's configurable in Todoist's preferences if you want to change it.
Task entry and natural language. Inside the task entry field, typing scheduling language directly in the task name ("submit report tomorrow", "team call every Thursday") applies the due date automatically. Priority can also be added while typing, typing "p1" before confirming assigns Priority 1.
Project navigation. Keyboard shortcuts for switching between the Inbox, Today, Upcoming views, and specific projects. These replace the sidebar clicks that add up over a typical review session.
Inbox sweep by keyboard. Todoist's inbox is the unfiltered capture point. Working through it by keyboard, scheduling, prioritizing, and filing tasks one by one, is significantly faster than doing the same with the mouse. The full navigation-and-edit shortcut set for this workflow is in the table above.
Task completion. Completing a task by keyboard, undoing a completion, and moving tasks between projects all have shortcuts on Mac.
