Chrome on iPad supports keyboard shortcuts with an external keyboard, and covers more actions than Chrome on iPhone. iPad is more commonly used with a keyboard for extended work sessions, and Chrome's shortcut support on iPadOS reflects that: the full set of tab management and navigation shortcuts applies.
Chrome DevTools are not available on iPadOS. For DevTools work, use a desktop version of Chrome.
External keyboard required. As with iPhone, an external keyboard (connected via Bluetooth or Smart Connector on compatible iPad models) is required. The Magic Keyboard, Smart Keyboard Folio, and third-party Bluetooth keyboards all work.
Discovering shortcuts. Holding the Command key on your connected keyboard shows the available shortcuts for the current context, a quick way to check what's supported in Chrome at any point.
Broader coverage than iPhone. Chrome on iPadOS supports a wider shortcut set than on iPhone. Tab management shortcuts are more fully implemented, and navigation shortcuts work consistently across browsing contexts.
iPadOS multitasking. If you use Stage Manager or Split View on iPadOS, Chrome windows can be managed through iPadOS keyboard shortcuts (handled at the system level, not Chrome-specific). No DevTools. Chrome's developer tools remain desktop-only. They are not accessible in the iOS or iPadOS versions of Chrome.
