Intro

Teams on Mac uses Command (⌘) as its primary modifier. The shortcut set mirrors the Windows version with Command substituting for Ctrl throughout. For meeting use, Cmd+Shift+M is the mute/unmute shortcut, the single most-used Teams shortcut for anyone on regular video calls.

Mac-specific shortcut notes

Mute and unmute. Cmd+Shift+M toggles your microphone during a call or meeting. This works in the Teams desktop app and in Teams running in the browser on Mac.

Search. The Command equivalent of Ctrl+E jumps to the Teams search field, useful for finding a message, person, or channel without clicking.

Channel navigation. Switching between channels, moving between Teams sections, and marking conversations as read all have Command-based shortcuts that replace repetitive sidebar clicking.

Compose and messaging. Opening the new message compose box, toggling formatting options, and editing the last sent message all have shortcuts.

Call controls. Beyond mute, camera on/off, raising your hand, and ending the call each have dedicated shortcuts in the table above.

Shortcut help panel. Cmd+. opens Teams' built-in keyboard shortcut panel, a quick reference without leaving the app.

Printable PDF

The Teams macOS shortcut list is available as a printable PDF. The call control section is worth keeping nearby during Teams onboarding, especially if you're adjusting from Slack or Zoom habits.
