Intro

Edge on macOS follows the same Command-based shortcut pattern as Chrome and Safari on Mac. If you've used Chrome on Mac before, most of the core browsing shortcuts transfer directly, the differences show up in Edge-specific features like Collections, the sidebar, and Immersive Reader.

Edge on Mac is common in organizations that standardize on Microsoft 365 tools. If you use Edge alongside other Microsoft apps on a Mac, the related shortcut pages for Microsoft Teams and Word cover their own Command-based shortcuts.

Mac-specific shortcut notes

Command (⌘) as primary modifier. All tab management, navigation, and DevTools shortcuts use Command in place of Ctrl. This is consistent with Chrome on Mac and with macOS conventions generally.

Edge features on Mac. Collections, the Copilot sidebar, Immersive Reader, and vertical tabs are all available in Edge for macOS with the same keyboard shortcuts as on Windows, using Command instead of Ctrl. The full set is in the table above.

F-keys on Mac. As with Chrome on Mac, F-keys are mapped to system functions by default on macOS. F12 for DevTools (the Windows shortcut) requires Fn+F12 on Mac unless you've changed F-key behavior in System Settings.

DevTools on Mac. Chrome DevTools and Edge DevTools use the same underlying architecture. The DevTools keyboard shortcuts on Edge for Mac follow the same pattern as Chrome for Mac.

Printable PDF

The Edge macOS shortcut list is available as a printable PDF. Particularly useful for the Edge-specific shortcuts (Collections, sidebar, Immersive Reader) that won't be familiar from other browsers.
