Google Slides on ChromeOS runs in Chrome, the same as on Windows. The Ctrl-based shortcut set is consistent between ChromeOS and Windows. For Chromebook users, Google Slides is a primary presentation tool, especially in education settings where Chromebooks are the standard device.
Ctrl as primary modifier. The Google Slides shortcut set on ChromeOS uses Ctrl throughout, matching Windows. If you've used Slides on Windows, every shortcut transfers directly.
The Search/Launcher key. As with other Chromebook applications, the Search key (in the Caps Lock position) is used in ChromeOS system shortcuts but rarely appears in Google Slides-specific shortcuts. Knowing it exists avoids confusion when Slides shortcuts reference Ctrl or Alt.
Chromebook keyboard and the top row. Chromebook keyboards don't have a standard F-key row, the top row includes screen brightness, volume, fullscreen, and other function keys. Google Slides shortcuts that use Ctrl combinations are not affected by this, but F-key-dependent shortcuts from other platforms don't apply here.
Built-in shortcut list. Ctrl+/ opens the Google Slides shortcut panel within the application, identical to Windows. Particularly useful on Chromebook where other shortcut lookup options may be limited.
Presentation delivery. Starting a presentation, advancing slides, using the black screen, and jumping to a specific slide all work on ChromeOS. Once a presentation is running, delivery controls (black screen, slide navigation, ending the show) work as on Windows.
