Intro

Keynote for the web runs in the browser at iCloud.com. On Mac, it uses Command (⌘) as its modifier, the same as the native Mac app. This page and the [Web on Windows page →] cover the same web application; they're separate because the modifier key differs between operating systems.

The web app is useful when you're on a Mac without Keynote installed, working in a browser environment, or sharing a presentation with someone who needs browser access. The feature set is more limited than the native Mac app.

Web on Mac shortcut notes

Command modifier throughout. Edit-mode shortcuts in the browser use Command, matching the native Mac app pattern.

Core slide editing. Creating and managing slides, basic text formatting, and object movement are keyboard-accessible in the web version. The most common edit-mode operations have shortcut support.

Presentation delivery. Starting and controlling a slideshow via the web app is supported. Some delivery features available in the native app, Presenter View with full controls, certain build animations, may be more limited in the browser.

Feature scope. Advanced Keynote features like Magic Move transitions, complex build configurations, and full Presenter View controls are more limited in the web version. For the complete Keynote shortcut set, the native [Mac app →] is more comprehensive.

Browser shortcut conflicts. Cmd+W closes the browser tab; Cmd+T opens a new one. These browser behaviors take priority over any matching Keynote web app shortcut.
