Intro

Keynote on Mac is the native application with the full feature set, this is the most complete version of Keynote and the one with the deepest shortcut coverage. Command (⌘) is the primary modifier throughout.

Mac-specific shortcut notes

Command as primary modifier. All Keynote shortcuts on Mac use Command as the primary modifier, following macOS conventions. Slide management, text editing, object manipulation, and presentation controls all follow this pattern.

Slide navigator. Moving between slides in the slide navigator panel, reordering slides, and creating groups all have keyboard shortcuts. For decks with many slides, keyboard navigation through the navigator is significantly faster than scrolling.

Object editing and alignment. Selecting objects with keyboard controls, nudging objects by pixel or by the grid increment, grouping and ungrouping elements, sending to front or back, and aligning objects to each other or to the slide grid, all have Command-based shortcuts.

Presentation delivery. Starting and ending a slideshow, advancing through slides and animation builds, going back, and blanking the screen all have shortcuts. Keynote's specific delivery mode shortcuts, including controls for Presenter View, are covered in the table above.

Presenter View. Keynote's Presenter View shows the next slide, speaker notes, and a timer on the presenter's screen while the audience sees the current slide. Switching between Presenter View and standard view, and interacting with notes during a presentation, have dedicated keyboard controls.

Transitions and builds. Working with Keynote's Magic Move and other transition types, and navigating between individual build animations on a slide, are keyboard-accessible in the full Mac app.
