PowerPoint for the web on Windows runs in the browser and uses Ctrl as its modifier. This page and the [Web on Mac page →] cover the same web application with different modifier keys.

Web on Windows shortcut notes

Ctrl modifier throughout. Edit-mode shortcuts use Ctrl in the browser, matching the Windows desktop app.

What the web version covers. Slide building, text formatting, basic layout, and object management are all keyboard-accessible. The web version covers most edit-mode shortcuts from the desktop app.

Presentation delivery in the browser. The web version can run slideshows. Delivery shortcuts may behave differently in a browser tab versus a full-screen desktop window. The table above covers confirmed web app behavior.

Browser shortcut conflicts. Ctrl+W closes the tab; Ctrl+T opens a new one. These browser shortcuts take priority over any matching PowerPoint shortcut.

Feature scope. Advanced animation timing controls and some layout tools are more limited in the web version. The Windows desktop app has the complete PowerPoint shortcut set.
