Intro
Jira on Windows uses Ctrl for the command palette and text formatting, plus a set of bare-letter shortcuts (C, O, J, K) that work without any modifier at all.

To use these, make sure your cursor or focus is on the text editor (a description, comment, or other free text field).
Jira on Windows uses Ctrl for the command palette and text formatting, plus a set of bare-letter shortcuts (C, O, J, K) that work without any modifier at all.
The command palette. Ctrl+K opens it from anywhere in Jira. Type a command name (like "Change status" or "Add label") instead of memorizing a chord, or start with a forward slash to search work items, spaces, boards, and filters instead of commands.
Bare-letter shortcuts. C, O, A, I, M, J, K, N, and P all work without Ctrl, as long as your focus isn't inside a text field (a search box, a description, a comment), the same way most web apps reserve single letters for shortcuts only when you're not actively typing.
Text editor formatting. Inside a description or comment, Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I, and Ctrl+U apply bold, italic, and underline, matching most other Windows apps.
A printable PDF of Jira shortcuts for Windows is available. The command palette shortcut and the work item action letters are the ones worth learning first.
Press Ctrl+K from anywhere in Jira. It opens a search box where you can run a command by name, jump to a work item or project, or navigate to a board, without leaving the keyboard.
The single-letter shortcuts (C, O, A, I, M, and the navigation keys) are reserved for when you're not actively typing. If your cursor is in a search box or a text field, click elsewhere on the page first, then press the letter.
Ctrl+B and the other text formatting shortcuts only apply inside a rich text field, such as a work item's description or a comment. They don't do anything on the board, the backlog, or a list view.
