Jira on Linux uses Ctrl for the command palette and text formatting, plus a set of bare-letter shortcuts (C, O, J, K) that work without any modifier at all.
The command palette. Ctrl+K opens it from anywhere in Jira. Type a command name (like "Change status" or "Add label") instead of memorizing a chord, or start with a forward slash to search work items, spaces, boards, and filters instead of commands.
Bare-letter shortcuts. C, O, A, I, M, J, K, N, and P all work without Ctrl, as long as your focus isn't inside a text field (a search box, a description, a comment), the same way most web apps reserve single letters for shortcuts only when you're not actively typing.
Desktop environment conflicts. Jira runs in the browser, so a Linux desktop environment (GNOME, KDE, and others) that claims the same key combination at the system level will usually win over Jira's own shortcut. If a shortcut isn't responding, check your desktop environment's keyboard settings.

Ctrl+B and the other text formatting shortcuts only apply inside a rich text field, such as a work item's description or a comment. They don't do anything on the board, the backlog, or a list view.
