Intro

Camtasia on Mac uses Cmd as its primary modifier for most Editor commands, though several Recorder, timeline, and library shortcuts rely on Control or Option instead.

Mac-specific shortcut notes

Recorder shortcuts. Cmd+Shift+2 starts or pauses a recording and Cmd+Option+2 stops it, both work from the standalone Recorder.

Panel switching. Single letters (B, E, R, F, N, T, O, A, U, V, D, X, G) open a specific panel tab with no modifier, the same idea as Windows but with an extra gesture effects tab (G) unique to Mac.

Control, not Cmd. A number of shortcuts genuinely use the literal Control key rather than Cmd: launching the Recorder (Control+R), several timeline group and stitch commands, and moving the playhead between clips.

Mac-only canvas and library shortcuts. Several canvas pan/scale levels, plus library scrolling shortcuts built around the Fn key, are Mac-only with no Windows equivalent.

Printable PDF

The Camtasia Mac shortcut list is available as a printable PDF. The panel-switching letters and the core timeline commands (split, group, ripple delete) are the most useful for everyday editing.
