Intro

Brave on Windows uses Ctrl as its primary modifier, the same as Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers, with a handful of Brave-specific names like Private mode and the Brave Task Manager.

Windows-specific shortcut notes

Closing vs quitting. Ctrl+Shift+W and Alt+F4 both close the current window; Alt+F4 is the general Windows shortcut, Ctrl+Shift+W is Brave's own. Quitting Brave entirely uses the same Ctrl+Shift+W, or the older menu path Alt+F then X.

The Alt+Space window menu. Alt+Space opens the window's system menu, then N minimizes or X maximizes, this is a two-step sequence, not a single chord.

Customizing shortcuts. Brave's own shortcuts page notes that everything listed here can be reassigned from Settings, System, Shortcuts.
