Intro

Numbers for the web runs in the browser at iCloud.com. On Mac, it uses Command (⌘) as its modifier. This page and the [Web on Windows page →] cover the same web application with different modifier keys.

The web app covers core cell editing, formula entry, and basic table management. Some Numbers-specific features, particularly the canvas object model (navigating between multiple tables on a sheet, interacting with charts and images as canvas objects), have more limited keyboard coverage in the web version.

Web on Mac shortcut notes

Command modifier throughout. Cell navigation, formula entry, and formatting shortcuts use Command in the browser.

Core spreadsheet editing. Cell navigation by arrow key, formula entry and confirmation, basic number formatting, and standard text formatting are all covered.

Canvas limitations in the web version. The full canvas navigation shortcuts for switching between tables and other canvas objects on a sheet are more limited in the web version than in the native Mac app. The table above covers what is confirmed for the web app.

Browser shortcut conflicts. Cmd+W closes the browser tab; Cmd+T opens a new one. These browser behaviors take priority over any matching Numbers web app shortcut.
