Turn shortcuts on first. Open Settings, then See all settings, then General, set Keyboard shortcuts to on, and save. Single-key actions like c, e, and r stay inactive until this is enabled.
Send. Ctrl+Enter sends the current message.
Compose and formatting use Ctrl. Ctrl+K inserts a link, Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I, and Ctrl+U handle bold, italic, and underline, and Ctrl+Shift with a number or letter covers fonts, lists, alignment, and quoting.
Inbox actions are single keys. e archives, # deletes, r replies, a replies all, f forwards, s stars, and x selects a conversation.
Jumping uses g. Press g then i for the inbox, g then t for sent, and g then d for drafts. Press the keys in sequence, not together.
Chat navigation uses Ctrl too. Ctrl and period or Ctrl and comma move between chat and compose windows. The full set is in the table above.
The Gmail shortcut list for Windows is available as a printable PDF.
They are turned off until you enable them. Open Settings, then See all settings, then the General tab, set Keyboard shortcuts to on, and save. Single-key actions then work in the inbox.
Yes, with Ctrl in place of Cmd. Ctrl+Enter on Windows sends a message, the same as Cmd+Enter on Mac. Single-key inbox actions and g based jumps are identical on both.
