Intro

Final Cut Pro on iPad uses the same storyline-editing letters as the Mac app (E, W, D, Q), so keyboard muscle memory carries over if you connect an external keyboard to your iPad.

iPad-specific shortcut notes

External keyboard required. These shortcuts only work with a keyboard connected or paired to your iPad, whether that's a Magic Keyboard or a Bluetooth keyboard. Use the menu bar to browse and search commands if you're not sure a shortcut is available.

Importing media. Final Cut Pro for iPad separates import sources: Command-I imports from Photos, Shift-Command-I imports from the Files app, and Shift-Option-P imports from Image Playground.

Recording and exporting. Option-Shift-R starts or stops voiceover recording, and Command-E exports the project directly from the keyboard.
