Intro

Acrobat on Windows splits its shortcuts into two layers, single-key tool switches (V for Select, H for Hand, Z for Zoom) that work like Photoshop's tool keys, and Ctrl-based combinations for page navigation, search, and accessibility features like Read Out Loud.

Windows-specific shortcut notes

Single-key tools. Turn on Use single-key accelerators to access tools (Menu > Preferences > General) to activate tools like V, H, Z, and S with one press, no modifier needed.

Read Out Loud. Ctrl+Shift+Y turns reading on and off. Ctrl+Shift+V reads only the current page, and Ctrl+Shift+B reads the whole document, useful for proofreading or hands-free review.

Context menu. Tab to move focus, then Shift+F10 opens the context menu for whatever has focus, the keyboard equivalent of a right-click.

Printable PDF

A printable PDF of Acrobat shortcuts for Windows is available. The page navigation and single-key tool shortcuts are the most useful to keep nearby while reviewing PDFs.
