Evernote on Mac uses Command (⌘) as its primary modifier. The shortcut set covers the core note-taking workflow: creating notes, searching, navigating between notebooks, and formatting text within notes.
New note creation. The shortcut to create a new note immediately, without navigating to a specific notebook, is the most-used Evernote shortcut for anyone who captures notes frequently. It's covered in the table above.
Search. Cmd+F finds text within the current note. A separate shortcut jumps to the main Evernote search field for searching across all notes and notebooks. This is the navigation shortcut that saves the most time in a large Evernote collection.
Notebook and tag navigation. Keyboard shortcuts for switching between notebooks, filtering by tag, and navigating the note list.
Text formatting. Cmd+B, Cmd+I, Cmd+U, and other standard formatting shortcuts work within notes. Checkboxes, numbered lists, and bulleted lists can be created by keyboard.
The Evernote macOS shortcut list is available as a printable PDF.
Yes. The Evernote Mac app includes a shortcut to create a new note from anywhere, even when Evernote isn't the active application. The exact shortcut is in the table above.
